Who doesn’t love being able to say that they made something all by themselves? Whether its repurposing an old piece of furniture, making your old t-shirts into a cool and colorful quilt, or getting your hands dirty with some woodwork, being able to step back from a project and say “I made that” is undeniably a great feeling.
Enter the DIY Movement. Brought on by the launch of popular DIY site Pinterest back in 2010, DIY (or Do it Yourself) projects are all about people like you and I being creators and innovators and showing those lazy people who buy the store-bought stuff that ours are better, AND homemade.
DIY? Meet Miss Kris.
Whether you are an avid DIY-er or new to the DIY-block, you should really check out MissKrisTurner.com. Miss Kris is one of my favorite DIY bloggers. Based out of Los Angeles, Miss Kris is your self-proclaimed digital BFF (Best FAB Friend) who blogs about entertainment, travel, home-decor, photography, fashion, and leading a happy lifestyle.
I originally started following Miss Kris back in 2010 when her blog was still called GlitterNGlue (crafty right?). Though the name has changed, her dazzling posts on how to be diva-licious in life have not. Miss Kris’s posts are timely, easy and personal. She posts DIY holiday-themed projects, like these amazing Candy Corn Inspired Glitter Champagne Bottles for Halloween; there are also easy no-sew or just-add-glue crafts, and all of her images are untouched photos of herself modeling with her DIY masterpieces. She even posts helpful and fun How-To videos for the more complicated DIY projects. One of my absolute favorite DIY projects of hers is her DIY Bar Cart video. SPOILER ALERT: she transforms a baby changing table into a glamorous bar cart. Yes, you read that right. Her creativity is inspiring and definitely gives any DIY-er (new or seasoned) a wide variety of crafts and projects to choose from.

She’s Famous!
Most recently, Miss Kris was featured on The Today Show this past February for their DIY Valentines Day crafts segment, which you can watch here.
Let’s Get Social.
Getting down to the social breakdown of this post, for one thing, MissKrisTurner.com is easy to navigate. The blog has a scrolling news feed with her most recent posts at the top, and you can click the title of each post to read the full entry and leave a comment! Also featured is a navigation bar on the right with an immediate Call-To-Action at the top to enter your email for her latest posts, and an archive drop-down menu where you can view posts all they way from the beginning in June of 2010. Don’t forget to check out the links to all of her social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter).
Hey you, DIY This!
To conclude, yes, I am a DIY nerd and a HUGE supporter of Miss Kris. Are you a DIY-lover too? If so, what’s your favorite DIY project you’ve created? If not, what would you like to learn to DIY?
